Boston in Autumn

Hey all! Ali and I recently returned from a really fun week in Boston and I wanted to share the photos with you. We wanted to go to America, our favourite city is New York but we wanted to do something new and decided on Boston because of all the history and pretty autumn leaves. I was also really excited to take a trip out to Salem (I'll share those photos in the next post!).

I LOVED Quincy Market, no surprises there. It took me about half an hour to decide what to eat, I went for some delicious carboloading with bacon mac and cheese and Ali got a lobster roll and some CHOWDA.

We took a guided tour of the Freedom Trail which I would really recommend. I think it was around $15 each and our guide was so knowledgeable and even took us to some parts that were off the trail that he thought we would like to see.

We went up the Prudential building at sunset which was wonderful timing!

View of Boston Harbour from the ferry which we took back from Salem. We were also on the water on the Duck Tour which is a must do but I was so busy looking around that I forgot to take any photos.

One of the highlights of our trip was the Science of Pixar exhibition at the Museum of Science. It was a great way to spend a few hours and being huge Pixar fans it was like heaven for us. It's also really interactive and you can play around with lighting sets, camera angles and all that fun stuff. Oh, and don't forget to take some dorky photos.

On the last day we visited Harvard and took a student guided tour, I annoyed Alistair by quoting Legally Blonde a lot.

  2. Argh, I really want to go to Boston. I'd been thinking of doing it in December, but this year is just running away from me. Your photos have me tempted, though.

  5. Boston is beautiful this time of year isn't it!!

I went with my parents last year, and so relied a lot on my Dad the tour giude! We focused on the bay area, and the Cheers bar (as well as the original Cheers bar for Breakfast!).

We headed off to Plymouth, and visited the pilgrim settlement there, as well as tripping up to Woods Hole (swear it's like the Dragonfly inn (off of Gilmore Girls)) and Provence Town, into the White Mountains and the cog railway, as well as the Yankee Candle factory outlet store, and Yale campus to end, before moving onto New York for a few days.

We popped into Salem, and I can't wait to read your thoughts :D

You've ignited my wish to go back, and really spend longer in Boston!! xx
